Caregivers Home Care Survey

We are looking for your opinions regarding a wide variety of issues that affect Caregivers on a daily basis and how you the caregiver deal with your parents or a loved one.

Americans are living longer, which has resulted in a growing number of people who care for an aging friend or relative.

Caregiving is providing unpaid care to a relative or friend aged 50 or older.

It may include providing help with personal needs, household chores, or financial matters; arranging for outside services; or visiting regularly. Caregivers may or may not live with the recipient.

What can be most difficult to deal in the caregivers role is a lack of understanding and appreciation for the role of a caregiver. Family caregivers often feel very isolated and alone in their roles, which adds the feeling of loneliness to feelings of stress and anxiety. Many of the caregivers are now "baby boomers" and find it very hard to juggle their families, jobs and parents. Most of the caregivers are women who work and have to stop their lives to work around "caring" for all. All of this leads to anger, guilt and sometimes physical and emotional distress.

The duties and responsibilities of family caregivers range from errand-running, bill paying, meal preparation, dispensing medications, transportation to and from Doctor's appointments, picking up prescriptions, and assisting with bathing and dressing, to providing hands-on care, such as lifting, transferring, skin care, and managing equipment such as IV therapy and wound care. Family caregivers also oversee and coordinate services for their aging relatives, such as adult day care, home health care, and medical treatments.

What our survey is looking for is your feedback so we can create an easier system for you the "caregiver" to be able to process your needs for a family member via the internet. This will free up your time and relieve some of your anxiety and frustrations.
